Cancer survivor Randy Whiteside has a pretty simple formula for staying happy. The Lead Upholstery Associate at our Kevin Charles factory in Mississippi, where he’s affectionately known as “Smurf,” he beat colon cancer in his early 30s—and he’s been focused on keeping stress to a minimum ever since.
“When I’m here at work, it’s all about Kevin Charles, and when I go home, it’s all about home. Everyone needs an outlet.” For Randy, that outlet is spending time with family, staying busy around the house, and helping out on his best friend’s farm. Until recently, he was also an umpire for his former high school’s baseball team. A part-time gig he got in 1983, he’s enjoyed coaching generations of kids from the 600-student school, and he’ll still walk down to watch today, “There’s just nothing that beats the country life. I go outside, do my own thing, and have good friends inside and outside of work.”
