There’s few things we love more than a good ol’ fashioned makeover story. And call us biased, but we just can’t get enough from our in-house Design Studio.
The dream team behind some of our favorite before and after stories, our designers have that magic touch that goes far beyond just picking out some new furniture—and the proof is in the pictures.
Design Studio Makeover #1
Can you say fine dining? While the before is certainly decadent, this dining room was in need of a fresher, more modern update. So designer Ranae Calderon traded out the old world style with some new world glam. Using our Sloane dining set as the centerpiece, she proved that less can be everything, by pairing it with a single statement mirror.
Design Studio Makeover #2
This particular project was for a young couple’s first home, and designer Lisa Aportela gave them a living room fit for entertaining—down to designing the show-stopping chandelier that set the tone for the whole space. The dramatic curtains both brighten and open the space, and almost everything you see has a custom touch for one-of-a-kind design.
Design Studio Makeover #3
Here, a splash of coastal décor transforms into a full wave of breezy design. Taking inspiration from the seaside-inspired before, designer Ranae Calderon took it to the next level with her creative touches. Switching out the shell-topped bed for a less literal and more stylish option (with storage!), she captured the coastal theme with a green and blue color palette instead. And notice how she kept the same nightstands, proving old furniture can mix beautifully with new.
Design Studio Makeover #4
The theme of mixing old and new continues, with the glam end tables and coffee table bridging the transition from overly formal to gorgeously modern. While these statement pieces are timeless, the heavy drapes, sofa, and rug felt a big dated. But by pairing them with a crisp white sofa and loveseat, plus a soft gray area rug and new accessories, the result is simply stunning
Design Studio Makeover #5
This project was a complete overhaul, changing out every piece of furniture for something new. The masculine brown sofa was traded for a lighter, fabric option, which instantly opened the room. Next, the dated china cabinet was replaced with door-inspired wall décor, giving the room an eclectic feel and really playing up the tall ceilings. A cow print area rug finished the quirky touches, for a result that is totally unique and inviting.
