With a dedicated goal to enrich people’s lives while making the world a better place, City Furniture takes special care to seek the greener side in every aspect of our business.
Starting from within, we built a state-of-the-art recycling center in our warehouse, where we recycle over 95 percent of all packaging materials. This includes condensing all Styrofoam, and sending it to a plant that transforms it into a plastic used for outdoor furniture.
We also opened the first-ever furniture store in Florida to receive the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design certification, also known as LEED. The iconic structure opened in Boca Raton in 2011 using solar tube lighting, LED lighting, and a water conservation system—with five more showrooms since following suit in Cutler Bay, West Palm Beach, and Pinecrest.
We then took our green mission on the road with yet another industry first, by converting nearly all of our 100-truck fleet to run on compressed natural gas (CNG). Benefiting the environment by producing less air pollution, CNG is also American made, thus reducing reliance on imported oil.
Naturally, we want our products to be eco-friendly as well, so we’ve taken great care to stock our showrooms with sustainable woods and alternative materials.
