The American Heart Association’s annual Heart Walk took place on Sunday, April 22, and team City Cares was there in full support. It’s a cause that’s personal to our company, and this year we were determined to raise the most funds ever.
So, in addition to being a sponsor, we organized a variety of fundraising efforts leading up to the walk. Our biggest—and most stylish—effort included our red Royale chair. Made exclusively to support our cause, the special edition chair is upholstered in a bold red to represent the color of heart health. We made a pledge to donate $100 of each sale to the American Heart Association, with a match up to $25,000.
Back at the office, our dedicated associates organized a variety of internal campaigns to raise even more funds for the walk. Our marketing team hosted a weekly raffle throughout the month of April, in which associates could buy raffle tickets to win furniture and home accents. Meanwhile, our corporate team hosted a 50/50 raffle, with proceeds from half the raffle ticket sales benefitting the walk.
Of course, we invited everyone in the community to donate and join us, and it all resulted in a great turnout. Associates arrived with their families and dogs in tow, and we’re proud to say we more than doubled our goal and raised over $10,000 to date.
